NASA's Mars Perseverance rover acquired this image using its SHERLOC Autofocus and Context Imager (ACI), located on the turret at the end of the rover's robotic arm.

This image was acquired on Sept. 15, 2022 (Sol 558) at the local mean solar time of 19:03:35 to 19:47:46.

a) it appears that microorganisms create sinkholes like those located in a warming Siberia

b) it is obvious that the same or similar action is taking place on Mars

c) many or most of the "craters" on Mars are volcanic calderas and microorganism created sinkholes
